"My name is IBRAHIMA BARRY, also known as IBOU BARRY COMBÉ. I'm a film enthusiast who begań his career as a stage manager before discovering my true calling as a director and assistant director In December 2018, I joined the 11th promotion of the ciné́-club Ciné́-Banlieue Dakar, where I was trained in the cinema and audiovisual professions. Although initially oriented towards writing and directing during my studies, I found́ my first professional set as a stage manager in director MOLY KANE's film les tissus blancs after being encouraged by a producer in 2019, by the name of Pape Madické Mbodj.
The same year, I went on to work as second assistant director on the film ADIOUMA by French-Korean director JUN CORDON.
Since then, I've gained 7 years' experience as an assistant director for film and audiovisual projects, contributing to over thirty projects in various categories, participating in project studies, preparation and shooting. I have directed two short films and co-directed a web series. I'm also working on two feature-length documentaries and fiction films currently in development.
Passionate about the art of directing, I continue to bring my creativitý and expertise to the film industry."
