Abderrahmane Sissako is a Mauritanian filmmaker and director, born on October 13, 1961 in Kiffa. The main theme of his work is exile and displacement. He paints Africa with autobiographical touches. In 2015, he became the first African filmmaker to win the César for Best Director for Timbuktu.
